My guiding design tenants
Understanding Human Imperfection
As an Experience-Designer, I prioritize humanity in my work and research. Data has limitations, and I believe in empathizing with users to truly understand their needs and optimize their digital experiences. By breaking down assumptions and shortcuts, we can create a more personalized and effective digital interaction.
Designing for all
As an Experience Designer, I aim to improve digital experiences for all people by prioritizing inclusivity, fairness, equity, and accessibility in my design solutions. I continuously learn and grow from each experience, and I believe that inclusive design yields the strongest results.
How I keep learning
As a designer, I believe in continuous learning and remaining open to new ideas. To better understand design, I ask big-picture questions and identify gaps in strategy. By connecting the dots and proposing solutions, I strive to create a stronger end result for users that addresses their needs.
More than numbers
My goal is to challenge the notion that data has a fixed interpretation and promote data integration as a means to influence designs and solve complex user needs. By analyzing data through a human-centered lens, I aim to understand user ethics, needs, wants, patterns, and goals to create positive digital experiences. Honesty and clarity guide my work, and I prioritize understanding the user's vision and needs above my own ideas. Listening to the bigger issues is key to making necessary design changes.
Work Values
I strive to bring my best self to work by being a dependable co-worker and pushing boundaries in both design and data processing. I excel in collaborative environments that value diverse perspectives, unconventional thinking, and learning through failure.
Bias & Privilege
I strive to design with a user-centric approach, prioritizing their needs and expectations. This involves actively learning and unlearning modes of thinking to allow for a more unbiased design process. To be an effective designer, I believe in awareness and understanding of different perspectives, and I work to overcome my own limitations and biases to create a more inclusive workplace and digital environment.
My greatest inspiration as a designer is the ability to create experiences that bring joy and satisfaction to people's lives. Designing with purpose and intentionality allows me to contribute to the betterment of society by solving problems and meeting needs. The privilege of being able to use my passion for design as a means of making a positive impact is something that I cherish deeply. Every day, I wake up grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and make a difference in the world.
