What I do for work I'm a Visual Experience Designer in Payment Products for Amazon, supporting North American and Canadian audiences from my base in Seattle, Washington. My primary focus is designing and testing placements to support co-branded credit card products and proposing final design solutions that meet our growing audience's needs. I also work with Marketing and Product teams to create a more personalized user experience that's backed by customer data and performance metrics. Ultimately, I want to optimize our web and digital platforms by working backward from what adds value to our end users' experience. In addition to my technical skills, I'm always down for a coffee run and enjoy sharing my latest music discoveries.
What I do outside of work I'm a proud partner and cat-dad to two Sphynx cats, Anubis and Pharaoh. When I'm not snuggled up with them, I enjoy playing games, geeking out over UX, and advocating for wellness. My fiancé and I love exploring interior design projects to create a cozy home that feels like an oasis. I also like to spend time with friends, working out, trying new restaurants, and discovering hidden gems around Seattle. If you have any coffee shop recommendations, I'm all ears!

What drives me
In March 2008, I was faced with a life-altering diagnosis of Type 2 Complex Regional Pain Syndrome due to medical negligence. Within a short period of time, I lost my ability to walk and was confined to a wheelchair. Doctors told me that I would never walk again, but with the help of an experimental clinic and dedicated medical professionals, I was able to make a full recovery in just six months. This experience has shaped me as a person and a designer, and has taught me the importance of actively unlearning biases and considering the implications of my work for people with different levels of mental and physical ability.
I believe in the power of human-centered design and using data to inform my decisions. My goal is to understand evolving needs and use design to solve complex problems. By taking into consideration the unique perspectives and needs of my audience, I strive to create designs that are both functional and inclusive. This approach drives my work and reminds me that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
